No one's taken offence to anything, Milly is just fishing. And it's worked.

I believe we should do away with Abrahamic faiths, and should see more strong Ethnoeuropean and paganistic gestures being used in sport.

Studies show that superstitious rituals prior to sporting events do increase the level of performance of the player.
All of them.
So it's not their god helping them but them helping themselves. If they believed that kicking a balled up sock into a bin would help them, it would too.

Correct mim. It is only "dark matter" because it cannot be seen and we don't know it is there - just that the known universe should have a lot more matter in it than can be seen or heard...

I've found a surprising amount of people believe in things like karma and positive energy etc.
Doesn't make you a bad person or "thick" or anything.
I personally do think that a lot more things than we like to think are still completely unexplained.
Doesn't mean that magic or God or whatever is automatically involved, just means we don't know.
Maybe there is some "magical" type force running through everything that can be completely explained scientifically, but just hasn't been properly theorised let alone proved yet?
Dark matter or whatever always pops up on science documentaries these days for example.

If they believe in "magic" they aren't rationalists, could you name one?

Eminike thanked God for getting him a move to the PL in several interviews.
I wish he's asked God to let him score some goals to keep him employed in the PL...

Almost everyone I know believes in some form of magic.
Horoscopes are still printed in many newspapers.
People avoid walking under a ladder not because they might get a tin of paint on their head but because it's 'unlucky'.
Superstitions - lucky hats, a rabbit's foot pendant (wtf?), lucky socks..
Religion - all of which is a belief in magic
Ghosts - extraordinary how many people think there might be ghosts or spirits from another world
'Spirituality' - the airheads who talk about 'another dimension' and meditate to connect with different worlds
There are in fact remarkably few scientific rationalists who believe there is no such thing as magic and that everything can be explained with science.
I think it might just be me and Richard Dawkins.

So if someone like Kaka said that God used to help him score, does that mean that God made the goalkeeper let it in?

Religion's been old hat since it was replaced by reactionary nationalism in the 19th century.
Some people still observe national saints days though...

No-one worships them anymore, though.
If you looked hard enough, you would probably find a Norse God who lives underneath toenails.
